Persephone - The Beautiful Queen

Persephone was a young girl full of joy and the daughter of Demeter.  Every time Demeter sat on her throne,  Persephone was on her lap.  Wherever Persephone danced,  flowers sprung up.  She was so graceful that even Hades loved her.

Hades wanted her to be his queen so he came out of the ground and snatched her and brought her down to his layer.  Persephone was Hades queen six months out of the year.  When she was with Hades everything was dark and gloomy on earth.  Demeter would cry and there would not be any flowers that would grow.

When Persephone was back on earth everything was happy. It was sunny, flowers would grow and Demeter was happy.
